Instead of explaining the differences here, please visit our technology page, where we’ve created a graphic explaining the differences between today’s regular Lithium Ion batteries, Lithium Metal, and Solid State Lithium Metal Batteries. Each of our JES solutions offer both the patented JES Thin Li Anode and JES Glass Electrolyte Separator. In addition, our Solid State Lithium Metal battery also has a solid Electrolyte Filled Cathode.
Solid State batteries with the JES separator are well suited for harsh environments and have been demonstrated to operate beyond 150 degrees Celsius (300 degrees Fahrenheit). These solid-state batteries have high energy density-footprint efficiency, do not catch fire or explode, are rechargeable, and can be flexible and formed with curvature or small enough to be medically implanted.
The JES Solid State separator with lithium-metal chemistry has been tested in very severe environments, undergoing drilling, boiling water and other stress testing. In no circumstance did the battery catch fire or explode, unlike current battery technologies on the market.
In a word, Yes. While the technology is very new, we’d be happy to talk with you about your energy needs, and how Johnson Energy Storage can help you meet your goals. Contact us today, and we’ll be happy to discuss in-depth with you the technology, and the possibilities.
