The Solid Electrolyte Development Lead will be responsible for leading the research and development of solid electrolyte materials for our next-generation solid-state battery products. This role involves developing new solid electrolyte materials and optimizing existing ones to enhance battery performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science, particularly in glassy solid electrolytes, and experience in the battery industry. This role will involve managing a team of scientists and engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the solid electrolyte development team, providing direction, mentorship, and support.
- Develop and optimize solid electrolyte materials to improve battery performance, including conductivity and electrochemical stability.
- Design and execute experiments to evaluate the properties and performance of solid electrolyte materials.
- Synthesis and scaling of solid electrolyte and required precursors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D and quality control, to integrate new materials into battery products.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Prepare and present detailed technical reports and presentations on research findings.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage lab resources, including equipment and materials.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solid electrolyte material development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge of solid-state electrolytes and battery materials.
- Proven track record of successful project management and team leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
